Summit JV volleyball team stays positive after loss to Victory Christian

The Summit junior varsity volleyball team lost to Victory Christian on Aug. 27 at home with a final of 2-0, but the Lady Bears kept their heads up and are using the experience to get better.

“We did way better than last year at the start of the season, so I think we did pretty good,” said Summit Kaila Lee. “We have a lot of returning players and Victory Christian showed us what we need to work on.”

Summit Christina McDonald said having a team who has played together before makes a difference.

“We are definitely doing better than last year,” said McDonald. “Having returning players really helps. We know who does what, and what we’re good at. Plus, we give each other advice and help each other out. We have stuff to work on, but we’re getting better.”

“We have a more confident team this year and we’re not scared when we’re out on the court anymore,” said Betty. “I think we’re going to have a good season, better than the past few years.”
