Highlands girls varsity golf team has made school history after winning the Smoky Mountain Conference championship in October.

The Lady Highlanders won the SMC championship by 27 shots at Old Union Golf Course in Blairsville, GA.
Highlands Anna Stiehler finished as the Championship Medalist with a score of 78. Highlands Brooke Fogarty shot a 101, Kaki Dyleski 108, and Annamaria Silverthorn finished with 120.

Their performance at the SMC championships qualified Highlands for the Girl’s Regional Tournament at Mimosa Hills Golf Course on Oct. 18 in Morganton, NC.

After Regionals, Stiehler qualified for the NCHSAA Girls Golf Championship at Pinehurst.

She has qualified for the state tournament all four years of her high school career, which was held at Foxfire Golf & Country Club this year where Stiehler came in 22nd out of 78 players.
