Chillin’ out at Snow Fest 2023

People throughout the community turned out for Snow Fest in Highlands over the weekend and indulged in s’mores, sledding, skating, hot chocolate, and a lot of snow at Kelsey Hutchinson-Founders Park.

Headed back up the hill for another run at Snow Fest in Highlands over the weekend.

Sponsored by the Highlands Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Center, Snow Fest turned Founders Park into a snow-covered playground.

Students from Highlands Booster Club were on hand cooking up s’mores, Berkshire Hathaway Meadows Mountain Realty helped keep the chill away passing out plenty of hot chocolate, the ice rink was bustling, and a steady stream of kids went flying down a makeshift sledding trail on tubes.

Kids could attain some pretty serious speeds with the help of willing parents who often wiped out launching them down the hill.

Highlands Ice Rink was bumping with tunes and skaters of all levels at Snow Fest.

Students from Highlands Booster Club were making s’mores for anyone in the mood for a sweet snack.

Students for Highlands Booster Club volunteered in shifts making s’mores, this was the afternoon shift.

Snowball fights were commonplace in front of the stage at KH Founders Park.

Besides being dragged or propelled on tubes by the manpower of family and friends, there was also a carousel pulling kids around.

Berkshire Hathaway Meadows Mountain Realty passed out hot chocolate to festival-goers at the second annual Snow Fest in Highlands.

Members of Girl Scout Troop 2996 were at Snow Fest selling Girl Scout Cookies. Troop 2996 is based out of Clayton, but made their way to Highlands to support a couple of their members who are from Highlands. If you missed them at Snow Fest, they will be at 4118 Kitchen on Feb. 11 and March 4; and Highlands Wine Shoppe on Feb. 25.

Every now and then an adult would have their legs swept away by an off-course tube and be laid out flat. You’ll notice the look on the culprits’ faces in the tube that just took this guy out.
