Highlands girls junior varsity volleyball team loses to Murphy at home on Thursday 2-0.

Highlands Emma Minton said they are showing improvement but still have a lot to work on.

“We played better than some of our previous games,” said Minton. “It’s not the best that we can play, but we’re still learning, figuring out how to play with each other, and feeling each other’s chemistry.”

Highlands Coach Katy Postell said both JV and varsity teams are staying positive and enjoy playing together.

“Both teams are showing tremendous heart out there, but we still have a long way to climb to reach our full potential,” said Postell.

Highlands season record so far is 0-3.

Highlands next plays at 5 p.m. away against Rosman on Aug. 27.
