Highlands varsity soccer team took on Blue Ridge Early College at home on Thursday and after establishing a 1-point lead in the first half, managed to pull off a close win ending 3-2.

Highlands Coach Caleb Brown said the boys played phenomenal.
“They were amped up and gave it their all the entire 80 minutes,” said Brown. “We had excellent intensity and I commend each and every player on the field, they really wanted it and it shows in the score.”

BREC gave a push towards the end of the game but ran out of time before they could change their fate. BREC Coach Nick Pressler said the Bobcats should all hold their heads high for how they played Thursday.
“We played well, this happens,” said Pressler. “The kids played their hearts out and they shouldn’t be ashamed at all. We played our soccer the way it’s supposed to be played and again, it happens.”
