Highlands JV boys basketball team beats Rosman at home

Highlands junior varsity boys basketball team took on Rosman at home on Friday and won 46-34.

Highlands Coach Brian Dearth said they may have walked away with the win, but it was a learning experience.

“We got beat down the floor on defense more than I would have liked for sure and we need to be more patient on offense and get the ball inside more, but it was a good win over an athletic team and it gets us going in the right direction,” said Dearth.

He added that it was a challenge shutting down what Rosman brought to the table.

“They were fast and moved the ball up the floor quickly and we couldn’t adjust enough to it,” said Dearth.

The Highlanders are a young team and Dearth said they’re working hard to improve.

“We are going to keep building and keep getting better,” he said. “It’s a good group but they are young and inexperienced.”
