Students enrolled in The Literacy & Learning Center’s afterschool program spent the past couple of weeks creating handmade thank-you cards for volunteers who help made recent vaccination clinics in the community possible.
50 cards were delivered last Friday by TL&LC Staff for the 50 volunteers who donated their time at a recent vaccination clinic at the Highlands Rec Park.

“TL&LC wanted to show appreciation to all those who are giving their time and energy to help make our community safe and healthy, so we asked the students to make cards,” said TL&LC Senior Program Manager Anna Norton. “This is a teachable moment during which we can underscore the value in service as well as the importance of showing gratitude.”
Norton added that the students were free to design their cards as they liked around the central message of thanks.
